Capturing the World through a Ghanaian Lens Duke Nii Noi Tetteh-Quarshie is a Ghanaian editorial, fashion, and commercial photographer whose creative vision has earned him recognition both locally and internationally. With a passion for visual storytelling and a commitment to excellence, Duke has built a reputation as one of Ghana’s talented creative professionals. Duke graduated from Takoradi Technical University in June 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography. His academic training provided a strong foundation for his career, allowing him to develop the technical expertise and artistic perspective that define his work today. Beyond photography, Duke is also a filmmaker, expanding his storytelling abilities through motion pictures and cinematic productions. His work across both photography and film demonstrates his versatility, innovation, and dedication to the creative arts. Based in Ghana, Duke Tetteh-Quarshie continues to push creative boundaries, inspiring audiences through his unique artistic vision. His growing portfolio and impressive achievements serve as a testament to his skill, passion, and commitment to excellence in visual storytelling. Building a Creative Business
Beyond the camera, Duke is also an entrepreneur.
In 2018, he founded Duque Photography, where he serves as Chief Executive Officer. Through the company, he has continued to grow his brand, collaborate with clients across industries, and establish himself as one of Ghana's leading commercial and fashion photographers.
Balancing creativity and business is a challenge many artists face, but Duke has shown that the two can work hand in hand. His journey highlights the importance of not only developing creative skills but also building systems, relationships, and opportunities that allow those skills to thrive.
Recognition Along the Way
In 2016, Duke was named a winner at the Ghana Fashion Awards, a recognition that highlighted his growing influence within the fashion and photography industry. His talent was further acknowledged in 2018 when he received a nomination for Excellence in Makeup Photography at the Ghana Make-Up Awards. While awards are never the sole measure of success, they reflect the consistency and quality that have characterised his work throughout the years.
Creating Images for Some of Africa's Biggest Brands Duke's ability to blend creativity with commercial storytelling has made him a sought-after photographer for both local and international brands. Over the years, he has worked with some of the most recognizable names in fashion and textiles, including VLISCO International, GTP (Ghana Textile Printing Company), and the acclaimed Ghanaian luxury fashion house Christie Brown.
Through these collaborations, he has helped transform fashion campaigns, product launches, and brand stories into compelling visual experiences.
Whether shooting a textile campaign rich with colour and culture or creating polished commercial imagery for a global audience, Duke approaches every project with the same goal: making the subject stand out and bringing the creative brief to life.
From Ghana to the Pages of Global Fashion Publications
For many photographers, having work featured in a major international publication is a career milestone. Duke has achieved it multiple times.
His photography has been featured in some of the world's most respected fashion and lifestyle publications, including British Vogue, Vogue Germany, and Essence Magazine. These features have placed his work before global audiences and cemented his reputation as one of Ghana's leading visual storytellers.
What makes this accomplishment particularly inspiring is that it was achieved while building a career from Ghana. Duke's journey challenges the notion that world-class creative work must come from traditional creative capitals. Instead, he demonstrates that talent, consistency, and a strong artistic vision can open doors anywhere in the world. For young photographers and creatives, his story serves as proof that your location does not limit your potential. Great work has a way of finding its audience.
